Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the meh-est one of all?

★★★★★ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Torches are passed, and a new Black Panther rises, while Namor swims in to steal the whole show. That mid-credit scene though!

★★★★★ The Banshees of Inisherin
One of the year's best films. Depressing and hilarious in equal measures, you know, like life.

★★★★½ Terrifier 2
Never made to be high art, it's purely for fans of hardcore horror who love practical effects and kickass final girls. Available on Screambox or probably still at a theater near you.

★★★★★ Black Adam
Completely style over substance, although at least it sets up the DCEU for better things to come.

★★½★★ Halloween Ends
Missed opportunities galore in the ultimate bait-and-switch that fails miserably on its confrontational promise.

★★★★★ Hocus Pocus 2
Funnier than the first film, even if just as flimsy storywise, but definitely worth your streaming time.

★★½★★ Don’t Worry Darling
Barely makes a lick of sense, but packed full of style, with another fantastic Pugh performance.

★★★★★ Pearl
Stag films & pandemics & gore, oh my! 'Pearl' gives Goth the role of a lifetime with West making good on his new blood-thirsty franchise.

★★★★★ Clerks III
Just because they aren't supposed to be here today, doesn't mean they can't serve up one of the year's funniest, and heartfelt, movies.

★★★★★ Barbarian
Starts off interesting before completely nosediving as it bullrushes to the hilariously inept climax. Salt in the wound that this was released in theaters and 'Prey' wasn't. Way to go, Disney.

★★★★★ Pinocchio
Overly familiar, but not shot-for-shot, Zemeckis finally finds his old charming razzle dazzle again.

★★★★★ Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul.
Never finds a balance between the comedy and drama. Hall gives her all, while Brown chews the scenery, destined for Peacock viewings, unless you give into tomorrow's National Cinema Day.

★★★★★ NOPE
Peele serves up another masterpiece where it just might do for the skies what 'Jaws' did for water.

Silly, hilarious, thoughtful, and heartfelt, A24 starts an early bid for Best Picture.

★★★★★ Thor: Love and Thunder
Hilarious and heartfelt, Waititi proves he's still worthy with his second 'Thor' outing, while Phase 4 finally starts to click into place. Haters gonna hate, but loved every thunderous minute!

Elvis is given his due and then some in typical Luhrmann spectacular spectacular fashion.

A horror film that finally has an amazing finale. Don't let the middle fool you, the first, and last, 30 minutes are five star quality.

Super fun, but super dumb. So, ya know, a big summer popcorn movie, heavy on the corn.
