PG-13 ★★★½★

The Wolverine

This summer, I prefer the "Man of Steel" over the "Man of Adamantium" - but both are worlds better than the third "Man of Iron."

R ★★★★★

The To Do List

'Parks and Recreation' television actress Aubrey Plaza isn't as funny as she thinks she is - and by that I mean that she isn't funny at all.

R ★★★★½

The Conjuring

Sure to scare your socks off, 'The Conjuring' is one of the year’s most terrifying films.

PG-13 ★½★★★

Grown Ups 2

While Sandler and Co. may actually earn a few laughs, the lack of plot, the unfunny stupidity and the overall disjointed natural of the movie still keeps 'Grown Ups 2' from being recommendable.

PG-13 ★★★★★

Pacific Rim

If you've already told yourself, "Man, 'Pacific Rim' looks horrible," then disregard that preconception. I was a disbeliever who walked away completely satisfied.

PG ★★★½★

Despicable Me 2

A short, semi-sweet sequel for Gru and his loveable minions.

PG-13 ★★½★★

The Lone Ranger

A gruesomely violent action comedy that also tries disingenuously to be a commentary on the plight of early Native Americans.

PG-13 ★½★★★

The Lone Ranger

The Spanish definition of Johnny Depp's character's name (Tonto) perfectly describes 'The Lone Ranger' as a whole - "stupid."

PG ★★★★★

Despicable Me 2

While the heart of 'Despicable Me 2' may not be as big as the original, its funny bone is much bigger than that of 'Despicable Me.'

PG-13 ★★½★★

White House Down

An action-packed blockbuster that's so bad that it's - not good, but - entertaining.

G ★★★★★

Monsters University

Another swing-and-a-miss as Pixar stoops into Disney sequel/prequel territory.

PG-13 ★★★★★

World War Z

Zombie disease develops... it spreads... WORLD WAR Z!

PG-13 ★★½★★

World War Z

It's more like 'World War Zzzzzzzz.'

PG-13 ★★½★★

Man of Steel

So, where did Superman's conscience go?

PG-13 ★★★★★

Man of Steel

I was doubly pleased; a good Superman film, and a good Zack Snyder film!

PG-13 ★★★★½

Man of Steel

This latest Superman adaptation reinvigorates franchise, perfectly blending the fun, the action and the drama into a superbly crafted film.

R ★★★★★

This is the End

The funniest movie of 2013 (so far), 'This is the End' is a world-ending comedy chock full of non-stop laughs.

R ★★½★★

The Purge

A low budget and a lazy screenplay purge the creativity right out of this should-be-good thriller.

PG-13 ★★★★★

The Internship

"Wedding Crashers" Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson crash this should-be fun summer season with one of the most bland comedies in years.

PG-13 ★★★★★

After Earth

With M. Night Shyamalan's career long dead, a more fitting title would be 'After Death.'

PG-13 ★★★★★

Fast & Furious 6

Absolutely stupid ... and absolutely entertaining!

R ★★★★★

The Hangover Part III

'The Hangover Part III' is better than 'Part II,' but that's like comparing the 'Star Wars' prequels against one another - they're all bad.

PG-13 ★★★★★

Star Trek Into Darkness

The intensity, action and scale of J.J. Abrams' first 'Trek' picture are satisfyingly amplified in 'Star Trek Into Darkness.'

PG-13 ★★★★★

The Great Gatsby

A lavish, but ultimately somewhat soulless adaption of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic American novel.
