Rated PG-13

Rated PG-13 for a mature thematic image and some sci-fi action/violence, and for being ultimately underwhelming.

Consensus

"Phillip Noyce directs The Giver with visual grace, but the movie doesn't dig deep enough into the classic source material's thought-provoking ideas." - Rotten Tomatoes
